He ducked his head at that, shaking his head. "Maybe one day we can find another place to settle in, Dean. There are other schools..." Though it killed him he didn't get to stick with Stanford... that had been his whole future laid out for him. Still, he knew what could have happened from the very moment he slept with Dean and told him he wanted to keep doing it. He couldn't really blame the other... he didn't blame him for it.

He turned his head to graze another quick kiss to his lips. "Yeah... nothing I'd change here either, Dean. I'm happy with you." He wanted Dean to know that much at least. He didn't regret what they had here, no matter how... abnormal it was, how unconventional.

"Okay, yeah, that'd be a new level of spoiling him..."

He smiled a little at the response though, eyes drifting shut briefly at the nuzzling. He shrugged at the question. "I don't know, Dean... part of me would like it. It'd mean at least we could relax in public, touch however we want. On the other hand, it's risky still... Especially if Dad ever found us..."

They wouldn't have any excuse why they're pretending to be some gay couple living together. "Plus... I don't know. Be weird, wouldn't it? Kind of... Not being brothers."

"Anything we do is going to be risky. This whole life of ours is risky." And that was without the supernatural element added in. Dean stroked his hands down his brother's back soothingly. "It would be weird to not be brothers, yeah. My part in raising you is the thing I'm most proud of in my life, but not being brothers could make things easier and safer for you. Especially if you go to another school."

Dean couldn't stand the thought of Sam being run out of another school and hurt like he had been. Any amount of sacrifice was worth it to prevent that happening again.

He looked up at that, just quiet for now, thoughtful. "Dude, a lot of the time, you were the only one around actually raising me... even if you were an irritating jerk sometimes. I don't want you to-- not have that. I'm glad yo were there for me growing up 'cause... I don't know what would have happened if it was just Dad. I'd probably be crazy by now." And it was just-- nice, kind of, to hear that was something to be proud of. As far as he knew, Dad definitely wasn't proud of what he'd done and he'd be even less so if he knew about... this.

"... We'll figure it out, alright? Not like we even know where we want to go to yet anyway."

"We'll figure it out," he agreed, bending to kiss Sam softly. "We'll worry about who to be after we decide where to go."

Dean had always been proud of Sam. Even when his brother was driving him most insane. He couldn't see that ever changing.

He knew he hadn't been easy to live with towards the end... or probably about as soon as he started to butt heads with Dad and get even more sick of hunting, but at least so far with the two of them living together again, it hadn't been bad. Not many serious arguments at least, nothing beyond the usual spats that blew over quick. It was nice to just... be happy with this.

"Yeah, sounds good, Dean." He shifted a little. "We should get cleaned up. We still have fireworks after all."

Dean chuckled at that and nodded, watching Sam sit up. He looked down at himself and grinned. Couldn't help but tease his brother a little. "Didn't know you had a moneyshot fetish, Sammy. Should have told me. I'd have let you come all over me earlier."

He sat up and grinned, brushing a quick kiss against his brother's lips while he reached for something to clean off with. The corner of the blanket would work.

"Dude," he protested at the teasing, frowning--okay maybe something more akin to pouting into that kiss, but frowning sounded less in the vicinity of cute. "I just- I thought it'd be easier to clean than if I- you know. It's totally not a fetish!"

He reached for another corner of the blanket to clean up with, fixing his clothes up.

"Such protest, Sam!" Dean laughed and sat up, not bothering to get fully dressed again. Just pulled on his jeans. He stretched and reached to pull the fireworks box closer to his brother. "Why don't you take a look through and see what you like? I'll go put Ozzy in the car. Don't think he'll like the explosions."

"It's probably a fetish of yours, dude." He got up to go through the box and see what Dean got, nodding. "Yeah, probably a good idea..." He didn't want to scare the little guy or anything.

Amused, Dean paused in getting up and knelt beside his brother, murmuring in his ear. "I'm usually swallowing or taking it up the ass, Sammy. Why would I have a fetish for it on me?"

He grinned and hopped to his feet, calling for Ozzy.

He reached back to give the other a half-hearted whack for the teasing. Well, he knew that was a fetish of Dean's for sure, swallowing and feeling Sam coming in him and if Dean kept it up, he had half the mind to make the other beg for it next time they did it. Jerk. "Just-- go put the dog up, dude!"

"I'm going, I'm going. Pushy!" He grinned as he carried Ozzy toward the car. When he was out of whacking range, he called back, "And, for the record, you being pushy is one of my fetishes."

He put Ozzy in the back seat with a blanket to lay on and some toys to play with, gave him a treat, and locked the doors. Nobody was stealing his baby or his puppy! Then he turned and headed back to Sam.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that one well enough, Dean. You love taking orders." He grinned a little to himself as he took out what he wanted to use.

Kind of felt like a kid again, excited and eager to get on with it. When Dean returned, he looked up, that same easy smile still on his lips. "Ready?"

Dean smiled down at him and ruffled his hair lightly. It was good to see Sam happy like that. Smiling like a kid again. Made him feel like he'd done something right. "Yep, let's do it. I've got the lighter."

He didn't even protest that hair ruffling as he got up to his feet, taking a step back so Dean could light them up, giving him an affectionate little nudge on the way.

When Sam had the fireworks set up how he wanted them, Dean stepped over to light them. When the fuse lit, he stepped back to join Sam, wrapping an arm around his brother and waiting for the show to start.

He leaned into Dean, an arm coming around his waist as he ducked donw to rest his head on the other's shoulder. That grin just lengthened even more when the fireworks went off, when the show really started. He briefly squeezed his arm a little righter around him, nuzzling in lightly.

Dean held onto Sam and grinned as their fireworks lit up the sky. He tipped his head back and watched them explode in bursts of color and noise. Definitely what they needed tonight. Something special to mark the occasion. He kissed the side of Sam's face softly. "Happy New Year, Sammy."

He watched the bursts with a wide grin. Been awhile since they'd done this together... maybe not since he'd been a kid and Dean'd let him have fireworks even though Dad said no. Now that had been a cool night... though not quite in the same way as tonight had been. "Happy New Year, Dean..." He shifted a little, pressing himself up against Dean as he slid his other arm around him in a proper hug, holding tight.

"Love you."

When Sam held on tighter, Dean returned the favor, squeezing him with both arms. His head was canted up to see the fireworks, cheek resting against Sam's shoulder. "Love you, too. Always."

I know what you mean! I never see the typos until it's too late.

Same! And then they just have to bug the crap out of you since you can't do anything about them pfff

And then I tell myself I'll just be more careful, but it doesn't help. :P
