When Sam woke, it was in a bed that wasn't his own and without his dad or brother in sight... needless to say, there was a lot of freaking out. He fumbled out of bed and went looking through the apartment he was in... only to find a dog and not much else. Nothing that would tell him where he was anyway or where Dad or Dean was, when they'd be back.
He even got desperate enough to grab the phone and try their numbers... only to find them no longer in use which was just... even weirder. Now he was even more worried.

On the riverfront, they wandered down even more stores and kiosks of tourist junk and restaurants. There was also a second candy store (the one Sam refused to work at!), which they had to stop in, too.

He never pictured himself settling down in Savannah, Georgia of all places, but Sam had to admit... it really seemed nice here, like they had made a real home really.

When they were done shopping in the candy store, Dean led Sam back out onto the sidewalk, heading toward his bar and the paddle boats. Watching his brother soak up all the sights and look so happy gave him a little pang, though. It made him wish he'd settled down for Sam a lot sooner. He remembered how unhappy his little brother was at this age, but at the time, he hadn't been grown up enough himself to understand it. Now, he wished he'd done things differently. A lot differently.

He let out a soft sigh, straying a bit closer to Dean, looking down at Ozzy, who was still walking just a little ahead of him. "We've done a lot of walking today, you know." He looked up. "Think we should sit down somewhere for a bit and let Ozzy take a break?"

He could probably take Sam to the restaurant without too much worry. Sam wasn't as known for visiting him and making public gestures of affection like Dean was at the bookstore.

Seeing where Dean worked, at least, sounded nice even if he couldn't go into the bookstore... which didn't make sense, really. No one would recognize him like this, but he'd save any questioning for later.

He brought the drinks and a menu back to the table, in case Sam decided he was hungry. Handed the menu and the soda to Sam, then sat down to pour out some water for Ozzy into a shallow pan borrowed from the bar.

Really cool looking at least. He took a sip of the soda and watched Ozzy drink his water for a few moments, just looking around.

He liked the view of the river, too. It was cool to watch the boats and cargo ships sailing by.

"What else is good here? That isn't a burger?"

Besides, they still had candy to munch on later.

"Anything you wanna do after this?"

Sam wasn't stupid, but he wasn't really at the age where he was thinking about Dean as anything but his big brother and it really didn't occur to him to consider the option, even if he was noticing a lot of weird things.
He just couldn't quite wrap his mind around them, that's all. The single bedroom (from what he'd seen anyway), the way that Dean wanted to avoid the bookstore Sam worked at...
Either way, right now? He just wanted to enjoy whatever this was. The peace and quiet, Dean right there with him. "Something with Bruce Lee in it."
