When Sam woke, it was in a bed that wasn't his own and without his dad or brother in sight... needless to say, there was a lot of freaking out. He fumbled out of bed and went looking through the apartment he was in... only to find a dog and not much else. Nothing that would tell him where he was anyway or where Dad or Dean was, when they'd be back.
He even got desperate enough to grab the phone and try their numbers... only to find them no longer in use which was just... even weirder. Now he was even more worried.

And it was nice hanging out with his little bro. He could appreciate Sam at this age better now that he was older. "We've got a couple of Bruce Lee flicks. All the Die Hard movies. Plenty of good movies."

He was enjoying this too... noting any little differences he'd seen in Dean so far, how he'd grown. It was interesting, really. And so far, Dean hadn't tried to ditch him for some chicks or been too annoying.
He gave a curious look. "Do I change a lot when I get older, Dean?"

He grinned and shook his head. "Nah, you weren't that bad. You just figured out what you wanted and you went for it. Didn't let anybody get in the way of it." He was proud of Sam for that, but it was also bad for him for a while... all those fights with Dad and leaving for Stanford. That was all over now. Well, for grown Sam. This Sam hadn't done it yet.

Sam had to smile a little in return though... that he does get what he wants in the end, something normal and something normal with Dean no less. It was almost too much to really wrap his head around, with the Dean he knew, the Dean that was entirely immersed in the life their Dad had made for them.
"... I didn't know if I could really do it, you know?" He always wanted to, planned to get out eventually, if he could though.
"But I'm glad you're here with me, Dean."

"I'm glad I'm here too. It's hard sometimes, but it's worth it."

He settled in to eat then, quiet for now and occasionally just looking around the area or sneaking Ozzy a bite here and there.

He laughed when he caught Sam sneaking food to Ozzy. "You complain when I do that. You say I'm making him fat."

And they were really hard to ignore.

After their bill was paid, he led Sam and Ozzy down to the street and back toward their apartment.

And now, he was going back to the apartment with Dean to watch movies. Today had turned out pretty great, really.

He guided them home and unlocked the door, letting Sam walk Ozzy in before he followed and closed the door behind them. "I'll get the harness off Ozzy, if you want to grab the movie you want to watch?"
no subject
"Got it, Dean! You ready?"
no subject
Since they just ate, he didn't suggest popcorn or anything. Maybe later, if they made an evening of it.

It wasn't long before Ozzy wedged himself in between them and gave Sam the big eyes for chin and belly scratches. Dean wondered what Oz thought of this kid on the couch with them. He must have smelled familiar, but he looked like the kids Ozzy always tried to play with in the park.

He slouched a bit more, getting himself comfortable on the cushions. It was nice, really... it had been a really good day.

Though Dean'd probably like that if he got to be carried around by a cute girl or something all day.

As soon as Ozzy calmed down, he shifted over closer to Dean, leaning against him a little, one hand going up to try and smooth his hand back down. "I see you never grow out of being annoying."
