When Sam woke, it was in a bed that wasn't his own and without his dad or brother in sight... needless to say, there was a lot of freaking out. He fumbled out of bed and went looking through the apartment he was in... only to find a dog and not much else. Nothing that would tell him where he was anyway or where Dad or Dean was, when they'd be back.

He even got desperate enough to grab the phone and try their numbers... only to find them no longer in use which was just... even weirder. Now he was even more worried.

"You're obsessed, Dean.' he curled his hand around Dean's wrist when his arm came around him, tipping his head in against him briefly. "I don't know if sea otters like pies and burgers, dude."

"They're missing out, then." Dean smiled at Sam leaning in. He tipped his chin against Sam's head lightly for a second. Then he tugged to get his brother moving and headed for the next exhibit.

"That means more pies and burgers for you though, Dean." He smiled when he felt Dean tip in against him like and he followed Dean's tug, followed him to the next exhibit. "Having fun too, Dean?"

"More for me! I like the sound of that." He grinned and nodded as they headed for the next exhibit. "I'm having fun. I like hanging out with you, Sammy. Even if you are woefully underimpressed by pie..."

He nudged at Dean lightly at that, shaking his head. "I like hanging out with you too, Dean." Even if he was obsessed with pie.

"Good. We'll have to try to do a lot of it while you're here." Make up for lost opportunities.

He led Sam into the fossil exhibit and released him to let him examine the bones and things. Knew Sam liked those sciencey things.

Sam followed him and looked at the exhibit with predictable interest. He really did like learning about this kind of stuff. Liked that Dean wasn't giving him too much grief for it either. They were probably running out of exhibits to check out now, as much as they'd walked, but Sam had enjoyed himself pretty thoroughly.

Even better with Dean's company, even if his brother could be a dork... and was, a lot.

They were nearing the end and it was getting kind of late. Probably no time for the zoo today, but they could see it tomorrow if Sam was still around. He let Sam have his fill of the fossil room and then wandered over to clap him on the shoulder. "You about ready to roll, dude?"

"Guess so," Sam answered, looking up at his brother. "Are we heading back to the apartment now?"

"Unless you wanna stop somewhere else. Don't think we have time for the zoo today, but we could do something quicker if you want?" He shrugged. He was happy to hang out some more if Sam wanted to. Supposed they could do something closer to home.

"Nah, that's okay, Dean. We can just go back, if you want. We should take Ozzy for a walk later though." He didn't get to go with them today after all...

"Good idea. Poor little guy's probably bored out of his skull by now." Dean turned to head back toward the front door of the building and out to the parking lot. He slipped behind the wheel and waited for Sam to settle in the passenger's seat. "Anything you want to eat in particular for dinner tonight? Or should we just see what's at home to put together?"

"Whatever you want to cook is fine with me, Dean." He climbed in and got comfortable. "Anything else you want to do tonight, Dean?"

"Okay. We'll see what I can dig up." he started the car and headed for home. It would be nice to get home and relax after all the walking around they'd done today. Well, after they took Ozzy out.

He glanced over at the question and then grinned. "Actually, I have a thought. Need to make a quick stop, first."

He gave a curious look at that. "A quick stop where? What are you planning?"

"Not telling." Dean intoned mysteriously. He pulled into the parking lot of a store not far from their apartment and stopped the car. "Hang out here for a minute. I'll be right back."

"Yeah, alright, Dean." He shook his head and waited in the car like he was told to... though he did have to wonder what Dean was up to.

A few minutes after leaving the car, Dean returned with a couple of paper shopping bags, rolled up at the top so Sam couldn't see in them. He set them in the back seat and then climbed into the driver's side.

"Alright. Now, home." He was still grinning, pleased with himself.

Sam gave a curious look at the bags, trying to see if he could get a peek in them as Dean set them in the back, but... no such luck. It meant he would have to wait then.

"So, when do I get to see what's in the bags anyway?"

"You'll see after we walk Ozzy." That wasn't too long from now. Dean figured Sam could hold out that long. He pulled into the building's parking lot stopped the car. When he stepped out, he reached into the back to grab the bags.

"Okay, Dean..." Besides, he was looking forward to taking Ozzy for a walk anyway. He really liked the dog... and it was just cool having one that was really his own and that he could keep. He followed Dean up into the apartment.

Dean led the way into the apartment, dodging the furry missile that darted at his feet. Ozzy was so happy to see them. Dean grinned as he watched the puppy dance all around Sam's feet, trying to work the cute eyes to get some attention. "I think he knows what time it is."

He set the bags down on the coffee table and reached for the leash and harness. "You wanna suit him up?"

Sam laughed when he suddenly got a fuzzy pup jumping around himand bent down to lift the dog up, tipping his head away from the assault of excited licks. "Sure."

He took the harness From Dean and put Ozzy back down to get the pup into it. Dog definitely knew what was up with how eager he looked.

Ozzy wanted all the licks! He squirmed eagerly in Sam's arms until he saw the leash and harness, then he settled a little so Sam could put it on. Outside, outside, outside!

Dean watched with an amused grin. Their dog was a handful. "Ready?" He grabbed the doorknob to open it for them.

Ozzy couldn't have all the licks! Not if he wanted to go out. But Sam got him ready and nodded, going to follow Dean out. "Yeah, I don't think Ozzy wants to wait anymore, dude."
