[As soon as they'd both got in the car, Sam was making his way towards the nearest clothing store he could think of. They needed to get Dean some seriously more appropriate clothes here soon. Though the thought of panty or bra shopping with Dean? A little bit awkward.]

[He was strangely more interested about the possible month with his brother than he thought he would've been before... Dean had come up. It was good to have his brother back in some way than when he'd first left for college. Still not something he wanted to think about and he didn't want to dwell on that bad blood, especially right now.]

So... how's it feel anyway? Waking up in a different body?

Dude... [He gave her a look after a bit of silence and her fidgeting restlessly in her seat.] You know-- I was just joking, right? About the, uh... clinginess and everything. I really-- don't mind.

Mmm? [Dean was pulled out of her thoughts when Sam started talking. She glanced over, a little hesitantly.] I don't... I don't wanna be clingy. I just thought I was being, y'know, affectionate... but I'm not real good at it.

Dean... you're not really being clingy, dude. [He was reaching over with his free hand to try and take hers.] I know what you were trying to do while we can get away with it, okay?

[She let his take her hand, twining her fingers with his.] Just... you'll tell me if I get weird or something, right?

Weird? [He gave her hand a squeeze, tugging it to try and get her closer.] You're not weird, Dean, don't worry. Well-- no weirder than usual. [He tried for a more playful look at that.]

[After a minute, she gave into the tugging and shifted across the seat to sit by him. Let go of his hand and tucked herself in under his arm, against his side. Managed to smile a little at the teasing. She'd probably shake off the weird feeling before they reach the Bay.]

[She shrugged a little, resting her cheek against his shoulder.] I like being close to you.

[There, that was better. He gave a satisfied noise and curled his arm around her as they drove.] I know you do, Dean.

[He gave her a squeeze.] You know I like it too, right?

Yeah, I know you do. [Her hand stroked down his chest lightly, enjoying the touch. Really was like some kind of addiction. She was twitchy and uncomfortable when she wasn't touching him. Having Sam close made everything seem right with the world.]

[He sighed at the touch, his own thumb brushing over her shoulder. Honestly, he liked having Dean close, loved being able to make the most of their time like this because... well, he knew as soon as the curse was over with, he was heading out again.] Good. Then don't worry about it anymore, dude.

Alright. I'll try. [She closed her eyes and leaned into him a little more, soaking up the warmth from his body. Kissed the side of his neck softly and sighed.]

[He smiled at the kiss, tightening his arm around her affectionately. He was content like this, with her pressed up against his side while they drove.]

[As the miles rolled by, Dean relaxed and the tension melted away. Hard to stay tense when Sam was hanging onto her like that. By the time she could smell salt in the air off the ocean, she was smiling again, nuzzling lightly at Sam.]

Almost there. [He glimpsed at her from the corner of her eye.] Excited?

Yeah, a little. Been here once before, but I was working. Didn't really get a chance to enjoy it. [Glanced up at him curiously.] You?

Been there with friends, but yeah. I'm looking forward to it. [His eyes were back on the road, shrugging.] Where do you want to go first?

The Ghirardelli store. [She answered without hesitation. Candy. Oh, yeah.] And then sea lions.
