on the run. [[livejournal.com profile] siswinchester & <user site="livejournal.com" user=

It took a few days to convince the hospital to release Dana... and Sam was half-convinced they just did it because she was being a pain in the ass. He couldn't blame them since she never took to being sick or injured well. They hit the road almost immediately after getting the prescriptions filled for some pain meds. He hated that Dana would basically have to suffer through the car drive until they were far enough away and safe to stop for awhile.

They pushed on and made it to some small little town though, far away from Palo Alto, Stanford, and hopefully any demons trailing them. Man, he did not miss the nasty, likely roach infested motels they used to stay in and like the one he was pulling into park at now.

Now they had to decide just... what they'd do for sleeping arrangements, he supposed. Jo had been pretty adament about not sharing a room, but it was safer if they did.

"I'll get over it, I guess," she says, even if she knows that it's going to be harder than just willing it to be say. She's worshiped the grown Dana's walked on since she was young, and has loved the girl since she was old enough to figure out what that emotion was when it happened outside loving your parents.

She chuckles, and smiles up at him a little. "Surprised ya didn't opt for the booze first. Sure, I'll share. But eat your damn hot food first."

Dana tipped her head to the side slightly when she heard the door that joined the two rooms open. Pulling her gaze from that fascinating ceiling, she glanced at Sam, blinking. "...hey."

"One of these days, you're buyin'," she says with a chuckle. "But of course, ya can have some."

Jo looks over at him, and smiles a little more at the compliment. "Thanks. It's...different, but I'm glad ya like it."

She waits, before shifting to pop the DVD in the DVD player while she waits for him.

"Uh, yeah...sure." No. She didn't really.

Shifting to sit up better, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed to push to stand up. Doc's said she had to move occasionally to keep her muscles from deteriorating or somethin'. Couldn't just lay in bed all day.

Making a soft noise at the initial strain against her middle, she shook off the slight pain and made her way over to where Sam was pulling out food. God, she was starving. "Yeah? You two have fun with that."

Jo waits, hearing them speak, and sighing. Now this is going to get bad, and she's going to go back to feeling isolated and alone. Fantastic.

She sits quietly back on the bed, cross legged.

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
It was just a matter of what defined "bad". Bad could be a lot of different things for them. Given they were three hunters on the run at the moment.

That pause of silence was making her...uncomfortable. And not in the 'my ribs are feeling all throby' kind of uncomfortable. Talking. Right. They did need to do that. Just..not now. Of course.

At the kiss, Dana didn't move, just watched him draw back and the press of his lips left her skin warm. "Hey, I'm a big girl Sam. I can take care of myself you know." She'd been doing it all her life. Huh, took care of herself, Sam, and even Dad most times. She'd never really wondered what it would be like to have someone want to take care of her.

Managing a small smile she scooped up her food and was heading back to sit on the bed, foreseeing a night of bad cable television and her finishing this burger in less than a minute.

Jo lies down, and sighs, turning on her side because lying back hurts too damned much. She decides as she lies there she really just needs to find someone that isn't in love with family members to hang out with.

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
She snorts at that, settling back as comfortably as she can on the crappy mattress. "You do that Sam."

She hoped that wouldn't be any time soon though. She could take a lot, but any more damage to her body and she may as well just be dead.

Sighing once she was left alone, Dana glanced at her food and realized, startlingly, that she wasn't really hungry anymore. Grumbling she shoved everything back in the bag, crumpled it and tossed it on the bedside table, opting for scooping up the remote instead.

Jo looks up at him and chews her lip. "Dana wasn't interested in watchin'?" she asks, looking up at him. "I dunno if...it's gonna be a good idea ta let her sit there and sulk by herself."

Not that she's particularly thrilled with the idea of the three of them sitting arm in arm. "And did ya show her I got...her a pie?"

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Boring. Boring. Stupid teenage girl drama. Some stupid show about demon hunting brothers...who watches this crap?

Sighing as she flips through the channels endlessly, she's tempted to order porn just for the hell of it. At least the story plots in those proved to be amusing most times. And it would also be amusing if Sam walked in. ...well, back before they were all...iffy with each other. Maybe it would just be awkward this time.

[identity profile] straightfromthe.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Jo shifts her weight. "I think it'd be best ta keep an eye on her," she murmurs, slowly standing, and groans. God, this headache thing has got to end soon. "You know she defaults ta the fake bein' okay with shit even when she's not."

That seems like a coping mechanism that seems to be going around.

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-03-28 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Great. They felt the need to babysit her. Dana did not need to be babysat, alright?

...though she did just chuck a pillow at the television. She had suddenly found herself extremely frustrated and was throwing before she knew what she was doing. Not that it really did any damage, just bounced off the screen and flopped to the ground.

[identity profile] straightfromthe.livejournal.com 2012-03-28 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Jo retrieves the DVD out of the DVD player, hooking it on her finger and grabs a bottle of water out of one of the bags.

"Ready then?" she asks, shifting her weight as she slowly moves to the door.

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-03-30 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Dana looks up as both Jo and Sam walk in moments after her little tv/pillow battle. Trying to look innocent, she shrugs, gesturing with the remote. "Nothin' good is on." Pausing, she arches a brow. "What happened to your guys movie date?"

[identity profile] straightfromthe.livejournal.com 2012-03-30 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Jo moves into the room, and grabs the pillow off the floor with a groan, tossing it back in the direction of the bed, as she puts the DVD in the DVD player. "Decided we'd make it a big party and invite the surly, pillow-throwin' guest too."

[identity profile] siswinchester.livejournal.com 2012-04-02 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I ain't surly." She grumbled, catching the pillow as it was tossed back at her.

Dana bit the inside of her cheek, eyes still watching the two of them as they moved about the room. She had been fully prepared for a night by herself on this bed. Now she was just thrown off.

When Sam smiled at her it made that old familiar feeling ripple through her and she blinked it away, instead focusing on his words. "There's pie?"

[identity profile] straightfromthe.livejournal.com 2012-04-02 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Jo lets the pillow hit her, and ignores it. If she wants to be like that, that's fine.

She just doesn't know where she should sit. She shifts her weight. "I'll cut some pie," she says, moving to it, and starting to cut it.
