Yeah...yeah that's fine [He forced himself to pull away and sat back down on the giant bed] You need anything before daytime happens? I don't really know how vampires work.

_{[He went to kick off his shoes before settling on one edge of the bed.]} No... uh, as long as any sunlight doesn't get it. It really hurts, man.

Yeah, no problem [He got back to his feet and started pulling the curtain closed on the few windows before kicking off his shoes and awkwardly removing his pants. He usually slept in just a shirt and boxers but sharing a bed with his brother meant searching through his duffel for his rarely used sleep pants] If I have to go anywhere tomorrow I'll pull the blanket over you, okay? [Once he was dressed he returned to his side of the bed and started to get under the covers]

_{[Sam hadn't bothered undressing besides the shoes. He didn't want Dean to feel even weirder about this and really, he was too tired to care about it. He nodded and huddled under the covers. He curled into himself a little.] Thanks, Dean...}

[Dean stayed quiet for a few minutes, laying there in the dark before he couldn't take it anymore] Hey Sam? What's it feel like? I mean besides the hunger.

_{[He shifted, rolling to face Dean at the question.]} Overwhelming sometimes... I can hear things I couldn't before and smell things... I'm stronger and faster than I could have ever been as a human. It's a lot to get used to, but... I guess it's not too bad despite the hunger.

Yeah? [He adjusted to face Sam, a tiny smile on his face]. That's kinda cool. Like superman....with bloodlust.

_{[That actually got a laugh out of him.]} I guess so. Too bad the sun's my weakness instead of kryptonite too.

Eh who needs sun, right? I might all the best stuff happens at nighttime. [He smirked and propped his head up on his hand]

Yeah, like what, Dean? _{[He snorted.]} Wait, let me clarify... like what for someone who looks my age for eternity?

You're tall enough, your fake ID pretty much works anyway...you can make this work. [They had been talking about the age thing a lot, it was one of their main discussions but hearing Sam say that word still made his eyes widen a little] Eternity...jesus Sam, you're eternal.

Don't remind me, Dean. _{[he let out a soft groan, tipping his head back.]} I don't want to be... People live and people die, dude, that's what I want... not watch everyone I know get old and leave me. _{[And everyone he knew? Pretty much consisted of Dean.]}

Well...then you gotta meet some vampire friends, good ones like you. Oh! Or find some hot chick and turn her into your vampire bride.

I don't want vampire friends, dude. _{[He huffed a little.]} Not like I can put out a personal ad for them anyway... and I'm not- no. Dean!

So that's it then? [Dean frowned, laying his head back down on the pillow] After I kick the bucket you're just done with social interactions? Come on dude, that's not fair. And you think I wanna get all old and pruny while you stay handsome? That's gonna suck.

Dean, I'm a monster, man... after you're gone, then I'll- _{[he trailed off, hesitantly.]} So am I. I promised to stay alive with you... I didn't promise anything besides that.

_{[He laughed under his breath.]} What do you want me to say, Dean?

[Dean groaned and buried his face in his pillow] That's not fair. [After a minute he turned to look at Sam again] Hunters have enemies, what if I get offed in 5 years, or 1 year, or 6 months...you're just going to go to dad and get him to kill you?

If I can, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you, Dean. But yeah, I guess that's the plan.

[Dean's eyes narrowed a little and he turned over to face the wall]

Dean, what the hell do you want me to do, huh? _{[He turned away as well, glaring at the wall.]} I'm what we were raised to hunt now... how do you think that feels?

_{[He moved to sit up then, not sure he wanted to stay on the bed right now.]} Actually, I'm pretty sure you got an idea. It's why you couldn't let me change you, right? Because the idea is just- so hard to even wrap your mind around, Dean. Imagine how it is for me, actually being like this. It's not easy.

You don't think part of me just wants to let you do it? But I.... [But Sam was right, he couldn't willingly ask somebody to turn him into something they hunted, his well-trained mind just wouldn't let him do it. Dean sighed but didn't turn to look at Sam] Just go to bed.

Just stop getting pissed off like that when I say I want to die, Dean. You'd want the same in my spot, so don't get high and mighty with me. _{[He reluctantly laid back down, rolling so his back was facing Dean.]} You don't know what it's like.

No...I guess I don't [He mumbled, feeling almost guilty for not knowing. His brother was in pain and he couldn't help, he couldn't even understand it. For the first time he had no way of making Sam better and it ate at him]

_{[Sam was quiet, huddling under the covers, curling in on himself. He didn't feel much like sleeping, but he was kind of tired of arguing with Dean, didn't want to keep fighting about the same thing.]}

Can...can vampires even sleep at night? [He thought that was a safe question to ask, keep things light, maybe they could not argue for 5 minutes]
